Georg Friedrich Händel
1685~1759. A German composer. He was naturalized in England and is a representative Baroque composer. The major work of his is Water Music (1717） and made many operas. The representative opera of his is Orlando（1733）and Alcina(1735).
Händel was one of Lee's favorite composers and she made many remarks on him. For example, in 'Beauty and Sanity' in Laurus Nobilis, comparing him with Wagner, Lee wrote: "It is possible that the music of Wagner may eventually become serene like the music of Handel; but was the music of Handel ever morbid like the music of Wagner?"
At the beginning of s short story 'A Wicked Voice,' Lee mentioned the names of Händel along with those of Mozart and Gluck. BOth of them were the favorite composers of Lee.
